Xinglun Holdings President Li Jianhui Elected Chairman of Singapore Business Federation
Xinglun Holdings President Li Jianhui was elected as the new Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), succeeding former Chairman Teo Siong Seng, who had earlier announced a temporary leave of absence and would not seek re-election.
The SBF held its 24th Annual General Meeting on Wednesday (June 24) and elected the 13th Council, with a two-year term ending in 2028.
The SBF said in a statement that the new Council comprises 24 members, including 12 elected councilors, 11 representative councilors from trade associations and chambers, and one co-opted councilor.
Among the six new councilors are Adam Click, Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (AmCham Singapore); Mo Sixiang, President of the Singapore Food & Beverage Association; Lee Teck Ming, Chairman of SGTech; and Suhaimi Zainul-Abidin, CEO of hedge fund Quantedge Capital.
During the AGM, the SBF also held the fifth Future Ready Business Dialogue, with guest of honor Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Public Service and Minister for Defence.
Centered on the theme "System-Wide Readiness: What Changes Must Government and Businesses Make?", the dialogue brought together business executives and policymakers to discuss how companies can enhance resilience, build future-ready capabilities, and cope with growing uncertainties.

The new Chairman, who is also a Nominated MP, said in the statement that geopolitical tensions, rapid AI development, and shifting trade patterns are reshaping the global economy, presenting both challenges and opportunities for businesses.
Li said: "My top priority is to ensure that enterprises remain competitive, resilient, and future-ready. We will work closely with businesses, the government, and industry partners to develop practical solutions, create a favorable environment for business growth, and help enterprises build the capabilities needed for innovation, internationalization, and robust growth."
He also noted that Singapore will assume the ASEAN chair next year, which is a good opportunity to deepen regional economic integration and consolidate ASEAN as a key engine of global growth. "The SBF will join hands with regional partners to turn these opportunities into tangible business outcomes and drive a more connected, innovative, and sustainable ASEAN."
Li previously served as SBF Deputy Chairman and Treasurer. He also acted as Chairman during Teo's temporary leave.
Teo Siong Seng, 71, issued a statement in May saying he would not seek re-election after his term as SBF Chairman ended on June 24. He had earlier temporarily stepped down from his roles as SBF Chairman, Executive Chairman and Director of Pacific International Lines, among others, to deal with charges brought by the U.S. Department of Justice. Previously, Lianhe Zaobao reported that U.S. authorities accused him of involvement in manipulating dry cargo container prices.
